Everyone knows that Sony makes it a point to release different colored iterations of their consoles. And Japan is their favorite place to do so as they have made available a lot of their game consoles in different colors in the land of the rising sun! Now Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) has announced that they will be launching a Red PS2 there.
The new Cinnabar Red (SCPH-90000 CR) PS2 will come with a DualShock 2 controller and an AV cable. It weighs about 720 grams and will feature the built-in AC adapter that was announced by Sony some time ago. The new red PS2 will feature the completely overhauled system that makes the machine lighter.
The new Sony Cinnabar Red PS2 will be released on Thursday, July 3, 2008. It will come with a price tag of 16,000 yen (including tax) or approx. Rs. 6500. It is being rolled out as a limited offer for the Japanese market. Let us hope that they release the red PS2 in India also.
